Sounds arrogant, doesn't it? We are not really as bad as all that and are very happy to respond to questions or requests (including exchanges of data) from people who supply us with scientific and other relevant data that is of interest to us - or who are asking interesting questions as long as we decide what is "interesting". But: our usually cheerful smiles freeze when we are asked by people we have never even heard of to work our unpaid fingers to the bone to supply information. We have found that such people and organizations rarely feel a corresponding urge to return the favour in any way. Get it? This site incorporates the work of a few dedicated and unpaid mugs. There are no salaried executives on bonus schemes here, no golden parachutes and no huge corporate structure with headquarters designed by over-rated star architects featuring executive dining rooms and swimming pool on the roof. Rather the opposite. All information we put on this web-site can be accessed free of charge and downloaded for uncommercial uses. Anything more and you must have something to offer in return. ... or you can snail-mail your cheque (note: we have to pay USD 30 to cash any cheque from outside Switzerland which makes cashing a cheque for less than USD 30 rather bad news for everyone but the banks. Some twisted negative types say this applies to all business involving banks but that is probably overstating the case a little.
